Adventures

Cub Scouting is an active program. Scouts learn by doing, and there’s no end to the fun things that Cub Scouts do in their dens, as a pack, and at special events. With activities held at every level—family, den, and pack—Cub Scouting provides a year-round program of fun and learning for Scouts and their families.

Pack Meetings

Pack 20 typically has one or two Pack Meetings each month of the school year.  Most of these meetings are held on Sunday afternoons in the Big Canoe Scout Hut.  Pack Meetings are where our all of our Scouts and parents come together to have fun, learn new skills and enjoy each other’s fellowship.

Den Meetings

The Pack is divided into smaller units called Dens.  Dens generally consist of six to eight Scouts in the same grade, although there are times when Dens must be combined if there are too few scouts in a particular grade.  Cub Pack 20  Dens will work on Cub Scout Adventure Achievements that allow Scouts progress to their next rank at least once a season (Fall, Winter, or Spring).  These meetings usually coincide with scheduled Pack Meetings.

Pack Events

Pack events include our Camp Outs/Overnights, Blue & Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby, Rocket Launch, and Nature Hikes. As a friendly reminder, it is the policy of the Boy Scouts of America that the use of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances is not permitted at any activity involving participation of youth members.  All Scouting functions, meetings, and activities should be conducted on a smoke-free basis, with smoking areas located away from all participants.

Community Service

The Pack participates in various Community Service projects throughout the year including the Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies.  We are always looking for new opportunities to provide community service so it you have any ideas, please feel free to notify the pack leadership.

Attendance

We encourage Scouts and their families to view Cub Scouts as a commitment. While occasional absences can be worked around, the Cub Scout program does not lend itself to frequent nonattendance. Pack 20 will hold at least one Pack Meeting per month for most of the school year. All Scouts are expected to attend.
