Big Canoe Chapel canceled Sunday services for February 1 due to bad weather. Scout Sunday will not happen this year.
On Sunday February 1st we will celebrate Scout Sunday across America and in our community. Big Canoe Chapel, our charter organization, invites scout families to attend the 10:30 a.m. church service, where we will recognize the youth, parents, and adult leaders of our Scouting ministry.
Big Canoe Chapel is a multi-denominational church, which means we are a mix of many different Christian faiths. We have a traditional service, with bible readings, congregational hymn singing, choir anthem, and a sermon. All together, a Sunday service lasts about an hour. Good chance you’ll see me in the choir singing tenor. Here’s a link to last Sunday’s service as an example – SundayServiceJan18
There is a coffee hour from 10-10:30 am, just prior to the service in Cousins Hall (where we had the pinewood derby). You are welcome to arrive early for some coffee, lemonade, & cookies. The Chapel provides nursery care for infants through 4-year-olds at the 10:30 am service. When you come through the security gates at Big Canoe, please explain to security you are going to the Chapel for church services. Please allow extra time to get your gate pass.
Big Canoe Chapel address: 226 Wolfscratch Village Circle, Jasper, GA 30143
We request scouts and scout leaders please wear their scout uniforms to the service.

We appreciate that families may have their own house of worship. Families are welcome to attend their own house of worship, and celebrate their own faith. We will have 2026 Scout Sunday patches to give scouts that attend Big Canoe Chapel’s services or services at your own house of worship.
